Protect, Direct, Correct

“Dear Lord protect me through this day”,
I start each morning as I pray.
Protect from what I wonder as I go,
With God at my side I’ll never know.

My prayer continues with one more request;
That God would direct and I would trust
He is guiding me with every step
‘cause I begin my day with prayer my prep.

So now content I’m ready to run
But there is a request that is still undone.
It was easy to ask for “protect” and “direct”
But now I ask that He correct!

Correct my thoughts when they aren’t pure,
Correct my words when they aren’t sure,
Correct my actions if they offend,
Correct my heart so it would mend.
